A zookeeper at a Nihonmatsu, Fukushima Prefecture, zoo was found dead in a lion’s cage with blood flowing from his neck from an apparent lion bite.
The accident occurred at the Tohoku Safari Park zoo, where the fire department was called at around 3:30 p.m. on September 28th from someone saying that a person had collapsed inside the lion’s cage.
According to the police, the victim was a male zookeeper found bleeding from his neck from an apparent lion bite wound. The employee was believed to be a man in his 50s who was confirmed dead at the hospital.
The Tohoku Safari Park has announced that it will temporarily be closed.
