Toyama Prefecture’s 300kg Bronze ‘Momiji Hime’ Statue Mysteriously Stolen


A 300kg bronze ‘Momiji Hime’ statue measuring 2m30 was stolen from its mountaintop location in Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture, and nobody knows where it could’ve gone.

The rather hefty bronze statue was taken from Momijihime Park on an unknown date. According to Takaoka city officials, they received an anonymous phone call on September 29th from someone claiming that the statue was missing. When they checked the site, they found that the statue was gone.

Nobody saw the statue on September 29th, but an employee working on weeding the park saw it on September 25th, so it appears to have been stolen sometime between September 25th and September 29th.
