Teacher Punished After Injuring Girl for Using Mechanical Pencil

Teachers always seem to have an irrational hatred towards mechanical pencils, but a 40-year-old female teacher from Takarazuka went too far and got punished for causing injury to a girl who refused to give up her mechanical pencil.

The teacher was given a 1/10 pay cut (three months of pay) and disciplined for inflicting corporal punishment on a child for using a mechanical pencil.

According to the report, the teacher was teaching a 6th-grade class in Takarazuka, Hyogo Prefecture, on June 14th when she saw a female student using a mechanical pencil, which the school forbids. She ordered the girl to put it in her school but, but when she did not comply, the teacher grabbed her arm and pulled the pen out of her hand.

Later, she instructed the student to check the rules posted on the wall of the classroom, but when she did not comply, once again, she grabbed her wrist and tried to take her to the wall by force; however, the child resisted and tried to shake her off but fell and hit the back of her head on the desk.

The girl reportedly sustained minor injuries, including bleeding on her right upper arm and a sprained shoulder joint.
