Sakurai starts out by saying that people often say, “Graphics don’t have anything to do with how fun a game is,” but he feels that it certainly isn’t the case. After briefly explaining how graphics are made, Sakurai compares the impact of graphics in different games. For example, how the graphics of a Dark Souls game would be looked at differently compared to a Sonic The Hedgehog game.

In conclusion, Sakurai says, “Graphics are in the eye of the beholder,” so while it’s valid to say that graphics don’t have anything to do with the fun of the game, he feels that it’s best to “strike a balance and elevate both as much as you can.”
