Japanese Internet users have been reporting that their Google Drive and other digital storage accounts are getting banned for storing erotic doujinshi, images, and other data deemed ‘adult content.’
According to a now-deleted post on X, a user reported that their account was banned from Google Drive because it “contains content concerning the sexual abuse or exploitation of a minor,” deemed as a “serious violation of Google’s policies and may be illegal.”
The user also added that their Google Drive account contained various adult content, including real-life erotic content with adult men and women, not limited to doujinshi and illustrations. Other users chimed in, saying to be careful with Google Drive and other cloud storages, such as Windows OneDrive, as they’re known for banning accounts containing adult content.
A Japanese user on X shared some insight on safely storing erotic content:
“Google Drive: Don’t use it.
Dropbox: A sense of security from a long-established company. NSFW is OK.
MEGA: Although its future is uncertain, it’s one of the leaders. NSFW is also OK.
pCloud: Expensive, but you can buy storage that lasts a lifetime. EU is probably no good for NSFW.
BOX: Expensive. NSFW is also no good
Don’t forget to carefully double-zip and add a password to all of your ‘suspicious’ data!”
