One of the more unique booths at this year’s Tokyo Game Show is a booth set up by a property company, advertising a newly built apartment building in Asakusa that’s been tailor-made for gamers and streamers.
The property company behind the building apparently spun off the idea from their previous projects, building sound-proof apartments for musicians. The gaming or streamer building (called Musision+) supposedly has been constructed to have internet speeds up to 10Gbps and reduce sounds from 100 decibels to 15 decibels.
The catch is the apartment’s price, ranging from 133.5 thousand yen ($900 USD) at the cheapest to around 239 thousand yen (around $1,615 USD) for the largest ones. Yet, judging by the official website, the current apartment buildings have been fully rented out, possibly showing how lucrative a business streaming seems to be.
